Which are you?  To what degree?  Take this test to find out.

Granted I'm biased, but........I think a phased-in shift of taxes from income to energy can appeal to both conservatives and liberals.  Here's why:

 

*        "Phased-in" shift of taxes; slow change à Conservative

*        Government intervention toward a solution (sets "rules" similar to patent and anti-trust laws) à Modern Liberalism

*        Corporate solution; market-based à Conservative

*        Protects the environment à leans Liberal

*        "Insurance" against economic recession from disruptions in energy supplies  (for example, weather related catastrophes, geopolitical conflicts, or terrorist acts) or from a rapid sell-off of U.S. stocks and bonds à Conservative & Liberal
